His experiences in the working world encompasses a wide range of diversity, thus landing him in the prestigious world of real estate, a passion Barclay has held for many years. The passion for real estate began in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he invested first in residential properties and eventually led into investing in commercial properties as well. At one point in time, Barclay was a controlling partner in ten diverse properties which included single family residences, multi-unit residences and multi-unit commercial holdings. Simultaneously while investing in properties, Barclay was part owner of a digital imaging company which employed 14 people and enjoyed annual sales topping 1.5 million dollars. At one point, PubSet was widely known as the second largest digital film separators in the tri-county area of South Florida. Barclay’s top priority in real estate is his clients’ wishes and the desire to make their wishes a reality. Having had the many opportunities to be on the buyer’s side of real estate and the seller’s side for more than 20 years, he knows how a client should be treated - they are number one! Additionally, Barclay certainly understands that “time is of the essence”. He understands that no matter how small or large a transaction may be, each and every client is important to the success of his business. I’m passionate about what I do. I don’t quit until we exhaust every avenue to get you what you need. I’ve lived my life as a 5th generation native to Western North Carolina. I grew up on a working farm, so hard work is in my DNA. I spent my childhood summers topping tobacco plants and helping bail hay for cattle. I spent my time in the creek splashing or fishing and trailing after my Dad in a freshly plowed field searching for Cherokee arrowheads unearthed after centuries. He had an extensive collection from our hunts. My Real Estate and property rehab experience goes back to 1998 when I bought my first home. I left closing, immediately drove to the property and ripped up the flooring and threw it on the curb for garbage pickup. I had to be at work in 2 hours, but I had waited for this moment a long time. I made that little house shine for pennies. I painted, not well, but I did it. Lol. I planted flowers, found nice appliances at thrift stores and replacement windows at salvage yards. After that experience, I was hooked. The thrill of owning my own home and the empowerment of making it look how I chose was addictive. I had worked overtime at my Social Work job to save up my down payment and closing costs…my Agent never mentioned good loan programs for first time borrowers or requesting seller paid closing costs…but as an Agent for over 17 yrs now, I know the art of structuring a deal. I then went on to approach a neighbor on my street with a poor condition rental property that had just been vacated…she agreed to sell it to me. That place was disgusting. That’s where the good deals happen. I hit the overtime at work again and saved up down payment and supply expenses. I spent weeks clearing and cleaning. I learned that not so fun art of sanding hardwood floors with a rented floor sander and who to call to sell an abandoned scrap vehicle. It was magical to see that tow truck pull off. Soon my first rental property was pretty and ready for tenants. Since then I have gone on to rehab many investment properties and have been a full time career Real Estate Broker going on 18 years. I was a Mortgage Loan Originator between my career in Social Work and entering Real Estate sales. My experience in all of these fields has given me the knowledge to help buyers and sellers in a wide price point attain their goals. If your dream is to own your own home, but you feel your income won’t support it, let’s talk. Been denied a loan? Let’s make a plan. Let’s see where the issue is and fix it. My motto is It’s never "NO", it’s WHEN” and I work with a variety of lenders with special programs for low income buyers. Investors looking to begin investing or add to their portfolio? I know structure and have done it all. Need help subcontracting a home or choosing designs or finishes? I can do that too. If it’s your first place or your 20th…let’s get to work on your goals. Your business helps me save lives. As a long time lover of animals and a foster provider for local rescues, My LLC Shelter Seekers Real Estate, donates funds with every closing to pull an animal out of time at a low budget shelter into a rescue to be adopted.

In 2005 an opportunity presented itself for Steve to move his family to the Yadkin Valley Wine region. Quickly Steve planted his roots and became an expert in a fast growing market neglected by most. With over 35 years of experience as a foot and ankle surgeon, I built a career dedicated to helping others. In private practice, I provided exceptional care to my patients while also mentoring aspiring medical professionals. During this time, my passion for real estate grew as I personally bought and sold numerous homes, gaining valuable expertise along the way. In 2020, I made the decision to transition from medicine to real estate, combining my deep commitment to client care with my love for properties. Just as I dedicated myself to my patients, I now devote the same attention and care to my real estate clients, guiding them through the home buying and selling process with professionalism and empathy. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, I was raised and educated in Michigan, where I cultivated my focus on medicine. After practicing for over a decade in the picturesque foothills of North Georgia, my wife Robyn and I relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, when the local hospital closed. Not ready to fully retire, I embraced real estate as my second career, inspired by my family’s involvement in the industry—my son in Michigan and son-in-law in Maine are also successful real estate professionals. Today, I specialize in working with home buyers, sellers, and investors. Whether helping a family find their dream home or assisting an investor in identifying lucrative opportunities, I’m dedicated to delivering the highest level of service and ensuring every transaction is smooth and successful. When I’m not assisting clients, I enjoy life just outside Asheville with my wife Robyn, an energy healer and psychotherapist, our Maine Coon cat Luke, and our yellow Labrador Molly. In my free time, you might find me crafting furniture in my workshop or exploring the area’s beautiful trails through hiking or biking. If you’re looking to buy, sell, or invest in real estate, I’m here to help every step of the way. From finding the perfect property to negotiating deals and managing paperwork, I’ll ensure your experience is seamless and rewarding. Let’s work together to achieve your real estate goals!

    Gisselle Sanchez

    Broker/Realtor/Bilingual

Hablo Español My name is Gisselle Sanchez, and I was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. After graduating from the Veterinary Medical Technology program at AB Tech, I worked in the veterinary field for several years. While I enjoyed caring for animals, I realized how much I missed connecting with Spanish-speaking communities—a role I had embraced for nearly 10 years as a volunteer translator at my church in Swannanoa. The passion for helping others led me to real estate, where I saw an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. As a proud Mexican-American and the first homeowner in my family, I understand how overwhelming the path to homeownership can feel—especially for first-time buyers and immigrant families. I wanted to be a guide, a resource, and a trusted advocate for others navigating that same journey. Over the past few years, I’ve come to realize that real estate is as much about education as it is about closing a deal. Guiding clients, step by step, and making sure they understand their options has been one of the most rewarding parts of my job. The last few years have been filled with learning opportunities and the joy of working with many first-time homebuyers. Their trust and appreciation have sparked a deep passion for real estate in me—one that’s grounded in service, education, and empowering others to build wealth through homeownership. What has made this journey even more meaningful is the opportunity to build genuine relationships with people from all walks of life. Each story, each background, and each goal has left an impact on me, and I’m honored to be part of their journey. Outside of real estate, I enjoy exploring new coffee shops around town and hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway with my two dogs, Duke and Rio.

My name is James and I go by the nickname Buck. I grew up in the part of Appalachia north of the Mason-Dixon line amongst the hills, mountains, streams, and small farms of central Pennsylvania. While Buncombe County looks like where I grew up, several places around the country do. I chose to live here on purpose (with my wife and twin boys who are in middle school) because of Asheville. We moved to Asheville for the rare combination of creative food, fun, and arts. We moved here for the great outdoors, as well as for the open-minded acceptance of difference. The Asheville area is great and we have enjoyed living here since 2010. It is not perfect of course, so I'm dedicated to doing what I can personally and professionally to make it a better place. I previously worked as a community mental health provider and became a real estate agent in order to combine my interests and aspirations and have experience with a variety of real estate transactions. I am fascinated by the challenge of matching buyers and sellers of residential and commercial property and see doing so as a way to improve the community by increasing home ownership and by investing in affordable housing. I will listen to you and can help you through the exciting process of selling your current house or buying a new home. I can also link you with mortgage specialists who will find the best financing options for you. I like to laugh and enjoy what Asheville and life in general have to offer, while also taking my work and your real estate goals seriously. I would be honored to work with you. James "Buck" Schall
