Byron Greiner, founder of Dwell Realty Group, was a visionary leader whose belief in collaboration, community, and integrity shaped the heart of our firm. His legacy lives on through the agents he inspired, the clients he served, and the culture of support he helped build. This page is dedicated to honoring his life, his work, and the values that continue to guide us today.
A Life of Leadership and Service
Byron dedicated his life to leadership, service, and building community. Before founding Dwell Realty Group, he spent 25 years in the food brokerage industry, serving as Senior Vice President of Advantage Sales & Marketing, one of the largest food brokerage companies in the country. He later pursued his passion for hospitality as a restaurant owner in Asheville, where he built deep ties to the community he loved and called home.
In 2020, Byron joined with four fellow agents — Steve Noga, John Patson, Barclay Garnett, and Derrick Erb — to establish Dwell Realty Group. Together, they envisioned a company which placed agents at the center, with the belief that supporting and empowering agents leads to stronger client relationships and better service. Byron never wanted the Firm to be about one person; instead, he believed it should reflect the collaborative spirit and dedication of everyone who was part of it. This vision shaped the culture of Dwell Realty Group and continues to guide it today.

Service to Community and Real Estate
Beyond real estate, Byron gave generously of his time and talents to the Asheville community. He served as president of the Asheville Downtown Association, president of the Grove Arcade Merchants Association, and as a longtime Asheville Downtown Commissioner. His leadership extended into service on the boards of the Grove Arcade Foundation, Lutheridge, Lutherock Camping Ministries, and the Bele Chere Festival, where he also served as chairman. These roles reflected Byron’s belief that strong communities are built through collaboration, vision, and heart.
As a Realtor, Byron cared deeply about elevating the real estate profession locally. He believed in education through action and devoted himself to making the business better for both agents and clients. His team, Dwell Realty Group, became one of the top-producing groups in the region, consistently recognized for excellence in service and expertise in all markets. Honored as one of the top 100 realtors in the area from 2013 onward, Byron also served as Treasurer and later President of the Land Of The Sky Association of Realtors (the Asheville area board of realtors). More than the accolades, Byron’s lasting impact came from the way he mentored others — guiding agents with patience, wisdom, and encouragement so they could grow to their fullest potential.
Carrying His Vision Forward
Those who knew Byron remember not only his professional accomplishments but also his love of life. He enjoyed connecting with people, traveling, and found joy in new experiences. More than anything, he had faith that the Firm he helped build would continue to thrive long after him. Byron believed and trusted the agents of Dwell Realty Group would carry on his vision of collaboration, service, and excellence, ensuring his legacy lives on in every relationship built and every client served.
